Section 3: Power & Freedom in Obedience

Transforming your thinking is essential to protect your potential and align your actions with divine purpose. By grounding yourself in truth, wisdom, and understanding, you safeguard your path to fulfillment.

One of the greatest, most liberating gifts that The Creator gives us is the freedom of choice, and the power to choose to be obedient. Obedience to the truths of Your Manufacturer is one of the most freeing decisions that you could ever make. Many see obedience as prohibition, yet obedience is protection.Your Creator is your Father, and as a parent He guides you through commands. The commands that you receive are guardrails, which are limitations, but these limitations are always for your own good.

When you are a toddler, or if you have a toddler in your home, you now know that parents go to great lengths to protect their children from things like open sockets, or anything else in a home that can prove hazardous. When parents put caps on their power outlets, or command their children not to place their fingers in the socket, it is not because they want to keep their children from having fun. Of course not! Instead, it is because a parents first desire and duty is to protect their child from danger. The same can be said of your Creator’s commands.

There are many that inaccurately perceive The Creator’s commands as restrictions rather than protections. Or some may erroneously assume that obedience is a way to meet a checklist to prove that we are worthy. The Creator does not give us the law to prove ourselves worthy, we are already worthy. The Creator does not even expect us to be perfect and blameless, we all sin and fall short of the glory, this is why He grants us grace and mercy. Instead, The Creator gives us laws and commands to keep us safe, and protect us from ourselves.

Your Manufacturer grants you freedom to do anything you want, except disobey, because disobedience is to your own detriment and He wants to “prosper you and not to harm you” (Jeremiah 29:11)  Rather, The Creator places limitations on you to keep you in His perfect will for your life.  When you violate your limitations you are in rebellion against The Creator’s will, and His purpose for your life. When you do not violate The Word, you are experiencing true freedom. When you dedicate yourself to perfecting and improving each day, through discipline and diligence,  The Creator comes into your life with pruning shears to free you from your disobedience and rebellion.

Disobedience and deception is the lid placed on your well of living waters. Imagine how different your life could be if you would let go of the grudge, change your internal self-talk, clean up your language, forgive others or truly believe in yourself? You are cleansed through the word, when you repent and ask for forgiveness with a goal to do better each day.

When you ask for forgiveness, the lid is pried off. With Jesus’ forgiveness you are clean, free and empowered to do absolutely anything you want, so long as you do not violate The Word. This is true freedom, and freedom lasts as long as you remain synced to Your Creator. The first step to true freedom is self- visitation.
