Section 1: The Nature of Time
Time is a divine interruption in eternity, offering humanity the structure of beginnings and ends. It is a slice of forever, connecting the finite with the infinite, allowing for growth and the fulfillment of purpose.
“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens” (Ecclesiastes 3:1)
The most common and collectively shared gift that The Creator gave mankind is Time. Time is a fundamental gift, and a universal principle that serves as both a blessing and a protection. Time provides structure to our lives through the predictability of beginnings, middles, and ends. This structure ensures that all experiences, including suffering, are transient and have a conclusion. Time is a blessing or a curse depending on how you manage it.
Time also represents a segment of existence, distinctly separate from the eternal continuum. While we experience time in finite segments—seconds, minutes, hours, days, seasons, and years—it fundamentally connects to an infinite dimension beyond our immediate comprehension. Placed within time, we navigate our lives within its confines, yet our essence remains eternal, indicating that we are not merely beings of the present but also of an enduring existence. Time is temporary but life is eternal.
From this perspective, time is both infinite, stretching beyond measure, and finite, meticulously counted and observed. Time is life, and life is stopped by time, when you die you move out of time into eternity. We, as human beings, were given time to experience relief from eternity. Therefore, time is good!
The Creator made time to give eternity a measure. While The Creator operates outside the temporal bounds, interacting with creation within these limits, we often perceive promises and potentials as distant or delayed. However, these promises are not far off but imminent, on the verge of unfolding.
Approaching our interactions with this eternal perspective means adopting an attitude of readiness and anticipation, preparing ourselves for the fulfillment of promises that are closer than they appear. This understanding invites us to live with a sense of urgency and preparedness, embracing each moment as a step closer to these imminent realities.
