Section 1: The Responsibility of Purpose & Freedom
Purposeful transformation liberates the soul, bridging the gap between belief and being. It demands the renewal of the mind, the mastery of thoughts, and the courage to choose freedom over conformity. True freedom is not an escape but a responsibility—a commitment to live with purpose, embrace your unique identity, and reject the limiting expectations of others. In transformation lies the power to transcend oppression and claim the fullness of your potential, creating a life anchored in truth, dignity, and divine purpose.
Freedom fuels purpose, and purpose demands freedom. True freedom begins with mastering your thoughts, transforming your mind, and actively aligning with truth.
“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.” - Romans 12:2
Purpose propels freedom, but purpose also requires freedom. You cannot fulfill your purpose until you free your mind, and you free your mind by transforming your thinking. Many of us believe in the Creator’s truths but we struggle to convert that belief into being. The gap between believing and being can only be bridged by thinking. What do you think about yourself on a daily basis? What do you say to yourself? Does your inner voice remind you that you are fearfully and wonderfully made? Does your inner voice remind you of your great purpose and the need for your donation to your generation?
The challenge that many of us have with bridging our “believing” and our being is that we take a passive approach to our thinking. We are under the impression that because we believe our thoughts ought to automatically transform. However, thinking is an active behavior that requires an active approach. Therefore, to transform your thinking you have to make the active, intentional choice daily to govern your thoughts. You have to master your thoughts by training them to align with truth. Just as we learned with being below or above the line in Module 8, our natural orientation is to be “below the line”. Therefore, we must make the conscious effort to orient ourselves above the line. The same goes for our overall thinking about ourselves, and as a result, our purpose.
To master our thinking we must create systems and processes to support, sustain positive, hopeful thinking and change doubtful thinking. We must train ourselves to think in alignment with the truth. While believing the truth can be passive, thinking must be active. This is where affirmations get their power. It is through affirmations that you actively remind your brain what to think. This is also why writing a vision down and displaying it where you can see it is also so powerful, because it reminds your brain to think of it, so that you may run with it. (Habakkuk 2:2) Write down God’s promises that speak to you most as well as your purpose statement and display it so that you can see it. That way your mind is transformed by the truth of your reason for being. Remember, you are the master of your own life by the gift of free will. To this end, it is by choice that you follow the path divinely orchestrated for your life.
Lastly, as with all things in creation, your choice to submit to the Creator and the divine laws that govern the universe is brought into being by you speaking it as so. Speak your purpose, speak to your thoughts so that you can truly activate your freedom and unleash your purpose!
