Section 3: The 10 Responsibilities of Freedom
As human beings, freedom is innate and calls to us from the innermost parts of our being. It is natural for humankind to be free, and unnatural for us to be in bondage. The Creator designed us for freedom, and this is evidenced by Adam’s placement in the Garden of Eden. The Garden of Eden was designed explicitly for Adam to do good/purposeful work and to fellowship with His Creator.
Freedom goes far beyond the definitions of independence or free-reign. Instead freedom is anchored in expectations and opportunities to manifest your capabilities. When you find yourself in an environment where your true capabilities are suppressed or are not nurtured then you are not free, you are in bondage.
Freedom is a state of maturation. It is the point in your existence that your Creator can trust you to be steadfast and apply the wisdom and gifts He has afforded you, for the realization of your purpose. Freedom is both a right and a hard-earned privilege. Freedom is a right because it was the intention of The Creator of us at the time of creation. It is now a hard earned-privilege because sin causes a battle within each of us that fights against the maturation of our call to Freedom.
Like the fulfillment of our purpose, freedom requires work, effort and discipline. Yet, every tool and skill that is required for our freedom is innate to each of us, at times lying dormant, but ready to serve the good work of our unique purposes.
What are you doing in your life right now, to exercise your right to freedom?
