Section 1: A Blessing Becomes a Curse

You came to earth to live your life with meaning and purpose. The ultimate goal in life is to die empty. Although society has trained us to see it otherwise, death is meaningful and has an assignment. Death is the one guarantee in this life, and as a result it is a constant companion for each of us. Like everything else in creation, death has a purpose. The key to understanding death is discovering its purpose.

Death, in its foundational design, is not an end but a transformation, marking the completion of life's temporal journey and a transition to another state of existence. This transformation was meant to signify a shift from physical presence to a spiritual one, aligning with the idea that we transition to be 'absent from the body and present with the Lord' as noted in 2 Corinthians 5:8.

Due to the consequences of negative actions and choices, or 'sin', death has taken on a more daunting reputation, gaining its so-called  'sting'. For those not aligned with their deeper purpose or not in harmony with their spiritual essence, death can become a negative force, and a source of fear and anxiety. Yet, death’s original role in our life was not to halt it, but to facilitate a transition. Our understanding and perception of death’s role in our lives has become perverted by actions and attitudes that distance us from our true paths and calling.

Sin is not merely about specific actions but involves a broader disconnection from our intended harmony with the world around us. Therefore, it manifests as a rebellion against inherent purposes. Thus, it is possible that  a person may lead a morally upright life yet still be distanced from this deeper connection with life’s greater purposes. This type of connection is not found in religion, instead it is found in a deep relationship with the Creator and through  Kingdom living. However, when this disconnection is widespread, it allows fear and defeat of death to overshadow life's natural cycle of renewal and transition.

In this way, death shifts from being a servant of natural order to a ruler dominated by fear and negativity, reversing its intended function from facilitating meaningful transitions to prematurely ending lives and terminating divine purposes.

Yet, death was designed by the Creator to be a blessing and living a life of purpose restores this relationship.
